Inquiry Based Learning Via MAPPEN

An Inquiry approach to learning is a dynamic approach which helps to develop the attitude and habits of life-long learning. It recognises that children bring with them prior knowledge and experiences and seeks to build upon these.

It actively involves the children in exploring their world, asking questions and inquiring into issues or ideas that are relevant to them and enables the learner to make connections and developing new understandings that are transferrable to a range of contexts in their world.

To deliver this approach to our students we use the curriculum resource MAPPEN which is a consistent, rich and engaging developmental curriculum run from Foundation to Year 6.
