Contempory Learning

At St Ita’s we are committed to equipping our students with the skills necessary to engage in the contemporary world.

Today’s students live in a world that has seen an information explosion, marked by rapid change not only in science and technology but also in so many aspects of our everyday society. It is therefore essential to provide our students with powerful learning opportunities that allows them to adapt, apply and transfer new skills and knowledge, show respect towards others, embrace technological and social change, equip them with skills that will meet the challenges of 21st century learning and allow them to be lifelong learners.

“21st century education integrates technologies, engaging students in ways not previously possible, creating new learning and teaching possibilities, enhancing achievement and extending interactions with local and global communities.”

(Contemporary learning: learning in an online world, MCEETYA, 2005)

The curriculum at St Ita’s is designed to facilitate this need. The use of Contemporary Tools is constantly evolving and consequently shaping our teaching and learning.

We aim at St Ita’s to create learning environments that facilitate the use of technology – supporting, enabling and engaging the learner in all curriculum areas and to develop in our students a deep understanding of themselves, others and the world.
