School Committee

The School Committee exists to serve the needs of our school community. It is an advisory body, which provides a structure for discussion, policy making, planning formulation and implementation, and financial management regarding our school.


St Ita’s School Committee is elected annually and consists of fifteen members comprising the following:

  • Parish Priest

  • School Principal

  • Ten members elected by the parent body

  • One Staff Member nominated by the school staff

  • One Member from the Parent’s Auxiliary

The committee shall consist of three office-bearers and incorporate the following sub-committees:

  • Staff Selection

  • Building and Maintenance

  • Family Support

  • School Promotion


The School Committee meets on the second Wednesday evening in each month.
